How do I create my first loyalty card in GetLoyal?

Cards & Passes
6 min read

Learn how to design and publish a branded digital wallet card your customers will actually use.

Why wallet cards work

Unlike physical punch cards, digital wallet passes update in real time. When a customer earns a stamp or redeems a reward, their card refreshes automatically — no app, no re-download. They also appear on the lock screen, keeping your brand visible every time a customer checks their phone.

Choosing your card type

GetLoyal supports eight card types. Pick the one that fits your business model:

Card TypeBest for
PointsRetail stores, restaurants, any purchase-based loyalty
StampCafés, bakeries, frequent repeat purchases
MembershipGyms, spas, clubs with recurring fees
DiscountAlways-on percentage discount for loyal customers
Gift CardPre-loaded balance for gifts or promotions
CouponSingle-use offer codes
Event TicketConcerts, classes, seated events
AccessStaff IDs, building access, VIP entry

Designing your card

Open Card Designer from the sidebar. The live preview updates as you edit each field.

Branding essentials

  • Business name — shown prominently at the top of the card
  • Logo — square PNG, minimum 200×200px; displayed in the top-left corner
  • Strip image — a wide banner that forms the visual background (1125×432px recommended). Use a high-quality photo of your product, venue, or brand imagery.
  • Primary color — used for buttons, accents, and the pass icon in the wallet

Card-type specific fields

Points card:

  • Points label (e.g. "pts", "stars", "coins")
  • Earn rate (e.g. 1 AED = 2 pts)
  • Reward threshold (e.g. redeem at 500 pts)
  • Reward description (e.g. "Free coffee")

Stamp card:

  • Total stamps required (typically 5–10)
  • Reward description
  • Custom stamp icon (optional)

Membership card:

  • Tier names (e.g. Silver, Gold, Platinum)
  • Expiry date behavior (fixed date, rolling 12 months, or never)

Publishing your card

When you're happy with the design, click Save & Publish. GetLoyal generates:

  1. A join URL — a short link customers tap to add the card to their wallet
  2. A QR code — downloadable PNG you can print or display on a screen

**Tip:** You can publish multiple card designs under one account. Useful if you run different promotions for different customer segments.

Updating a live card

Any changes you save are pushed automatically to every customer's wallet within minutes — no customer action required. This makes it easy to run flash promotions: update the strip image, push a notification, and watch footfall increase.
